So today I watched Water for Elephants. I’d wanted to see it mostly because of Christoph Waltz. I adore his accent and found him to be quite superb in Inglorious Basterds.
Anyway, I was sitting there, watching this film, and it seriously angered me to no end. As much as I don’t care for Robert Pattinson(I did like him in Harry Potter when he was basically a nobody), I was honestly rooting for his character. He kind of surprised me in the movie, even though I did call him a pansy. haha.
When Christoph’s character went crazy and took that bull hook to the elephant, I was so upset, I had tears of rage in my eyes. I so wanted Rob’s character to beat him with that bull hook. But no.
And then near the end, when those guys set the animals free and Rosie stabbed Christoph’s character with that spike, I leapt up and cheered, my hands flailing like a crazy person. I was so excited about his death. haha. He deserved it. He should have been trampled, as well.
I don’t think I’ve felt this much hatred and anger and rage towards a movie character since I saw Jack Ketchum’s Red. If you haven’t seen that one, I suggest a watch. It’s absolutely amazing. Just as good as the book. And it is pretty upsetting. Plus, Robert Englund has a bit part in it. Can’t go wrong there.
Ugh, seriously? People who say they expected Cabin in the Woods to be super scary and similar to Saw or Hostel need slapped upside the head. Honestly, if that’s what you were waiting for, and then you go and bash the movie for sucking because it wasn’t what you wanted, then no. Just no. I can’t even put into words how annoyed I am by this. CitW is not meant to be super scary torture porn. It’s more like Scream, I guess. It’s a fun, slightly campy, pure Joss Whedon genius film that happens to have tons of blood and tons of weird creatures/monsters. It’s absolutely amazing. Now I have nothing against Saw or Hostel; I love both films(the sequels not so much, except maybe Saw VI), but complaining that Cabin wasn’t good because it wasn’t like those films makes me want to kick you across a room. lol. Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, but some people just don’t understand. Okay, rant over.
